Simple Past Tense

Simple past tense adalah tenses bahasa Inggris yang digunakan untuk menyatakan kejadian yang terjadi dan telah berakhir di masa lampau.

Ada beberapa rumus yang digunakan untuk membentuk kalimat simple past tense, diantaranya:

1.     Rumus Simple Past Tense Afirmatif (Bentuk Positif)

Rumus Verbal Positif Simple Past Tense

Subjek + Kata Kerja 2 + Pelengkap

Rumus Nominal Positif Simple Past Tense

Subjek + menjadi (was/were) + Pelengkap 

Berikut adalah contoh kalimat simple past tense bentuk positif:

·        Lizzie memenangkan penulis terbaik tahun lalu. (Lizzie memenangkan penulis terbaik tahun lalu.)

 

2. Rumus Simple Past Tense Bentuk Negatif

Rumus Verbal Negatif Simple Past Tense

Subjek + tidak + kata kerja 1

Rumus Nominal Negatif Simple Past Tense

Subjek + menjadi (was/were) + bukan

Berikut contoh kalimat negatif simple past tense :
